How we verify
House rule: there are no scores here. This registry does not rate restaurants or rank them by taste. It records facts: who vouches for each restaurant, which details are on file, and what date each detail carries.
What gets a restaurant into the registry
A restaurant is entered only when at least one accredited independent source vouches for it: certification by Wikipaella, the Michelin Guide, the soles and soletes of Guía Repsol (or simply appearing in it), 50 Best, or bylined reporting in accredited press. Neither Google nor OpenStreetMap admits anyone: they only supply facts to entries that already have a credential.
Where each fact comes from

The four stamps
VERIFIED OPEN — checked this month against the real state of the business. TEMPORARILY CLOSED — holidays, building work or a move, with a return date where one is on record. CLOSED FOR GOOD — struck off in The Ledger; the entry moves to the archive and keeps its number. NOT VERIFIED — the facts are sourced but we have not checked the status directly; the stamp shows the date of the data.
What we don't do
- We don't invent facts: if a detail has no source, the entry doesn't show it.
- We don't copy reviews from any platform; we link to the source.
- No restaurant pays to appear; an entry can be claimed only to correct facts.
- We publish no review averages, ours or anyone else's: credentials appear as what they are — third-party distinctions, named and dated.
The registry number
Every restaurant gets a four-figure number on entry (No. 0001 onwards), in first-compile order. The number is never recycled and never reassigned: if a restaurant closes, its number stays in the archive with it.
Open data
The full registry is published as a JSON dataset with per-field provenance: valenciarestaurantes.com/datos/registro.json (414 entries, CC BY 4.0; mapping © OpenStreetMap, ODbL). If you reuse the data, cite the source of each field — it is in the JSON itself.
